Using LES, this work looks at the internal tide breaking process on sloping bottom topography, finding a strong dependence on the length scale we term the ‘effective wave height’ from the initial overtuns to the ejection of near-boundary fluid into the interior. There is also a discussion of the subsequent water-mass transformation and mixing in the BBL using both a volume budget and buoyancy fluxes.

As the instructor of record for these lower level math courses, I planned lessons, group work, quizzes, and worksheets to help 60-80 non-mathmatically inclined students understand the required material. This included both in-person and virtual environments. Some classes required managing three different course timelines within one class, as well as supervising a team of undergraduate assistants in the classroom.

Taught supplementary discussion sections for 60 students in in-person and virtual environments. Created and lead group work where students must think deeply about the material rather than just problem solve.
